Samo par dana nakon 13og rođendana Quake-a, ZeniMax Media Inc. je završio kupnju id Software-a Inc. Ovim potezom ZeniMax Media, inače nadređena/matična kompanija  Bethesda Softworks-a(Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3), ne bi trebala mijenjat poslovanje id Software-a, barem u kratkom roku.

Tako da već najavljeni id naslovi kao što su RAGE, Wolfenstein, itd. će i dalje biti izdani od strane Activisona odnosno Electronic Arts-a.

Također i svi ostali dogovori id Software-a ostaju isti, bilo to dugogodišnji ugovori s zaposlenicima, ili raspodjela rada unutar studija, do svih dosadašnjih poslovnih operacija i sl. Ali zato će svi daljni naslovi biti ZeniMax igre.
